GENERAL HOME INSPECTION

In our residential home inspection, we comprehensively evaluate visible and readily accessible areas of a home.

Inspected areas include:

  • Roof
  • Attic, Ventilation, & Insulation
  • Foundation, Basement, & Crawl Space
  • Exterior (doors, windows, cladding)
  • Interior (doors, windows, floors, walls, ceilings, stairs)
  • Decks
  • Fireplaces & Wood Stoves
  • Heating & Cooling Systems
  • Plumbing System
  • Electrical System
  • Built-in Kitchen Appliances
  • Infrared Thermal Imaging as needed

NEW CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION

When a new home is finished being built or entering the final stages of construction, we recommend scheduling a professional inspection. By having the condition of a new home evaluated, any material defects or oversights in system installation can be identified and addressed before it’s time to move in.

PRE-LISTING INSPECTION

Before you sell your home, it’s a great idea to have the property evaluated by a professional home inspector. A Pre-Listing Inspection allows a seller to have a clear understanding of the home’s condition before it goes on the market. This can give you a better idea of the property’s value, and creates an opportunity to preemptively resolve any issues that could reduce a buyer’s offer or stall negotiations.

RE-INSPECTIONS

If Slopeside Home Inspections conducted an inspection for you that turned up any issues that have since been repaired, we gladly offer Re-Inspections to ensure that the work was performed. Whether it was defective drywall or an issue with the electrical system, we’ll carefully examine any repairs that were agreed upon and make sure those items have indeed been repaired.

RADON TESTING

Radon is an odorless, tasteless, and potentially deadly radioactive gas that originates from the decomposition of rock and soil deep underground. When radon escapes the surface, it’s possible for the gas to concentrate inside your home. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates. Overall, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, right behind smoking. Radon is responsible for approximately 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year. About 2,900 of these deaths occur among people who have never smoked. Fortunately, we have the training and the tools necessary to make sure that your home is radon-free.
